About
A defense-first strategy: it buys a volatility hedge when stocks look overheated, buys leveraged tech after a sharp drop, and otherwise parks in gold, short-term Treasuries, and the U.S. dollar.
This strategy watches the recent temperature of the stock market using a simple 0–100 score called RSI, which tells whether prices have run up too fast or fallen too hard.
If the market looks extremely overheated, it buys UVXY, a fund that usually rises when market fear jumps.
If tech stocks look beaten down, it buys TQQQ, a high-risk fund that bets on a rebound in big tech.
Otherwise, it stays defensive in gold, short-term Treasury bonds, and the U.S. dollar.
Out-of-sample annualized return ~33% vs SPY ~21%; Calmar ~1.42 signals strong risk-adjusted upsides. A defense-first, volatility-hedged strategy aims for higher upside with stress protection—though drawdowns can exceed SPY.
