About

Buy UVXY when a turbo‑Nasdaq fund (TQQQ) looks overheated (RSI>80) to catch a volatility spike. Otherwise hold BTAL plus the calmest of TMF/TMV/SVXY to stay defensive and collect carry in quiet markets.
NutHow it works
Goal: profit from swings in market fear (volatility). When a ‘too hot’ reading (RSI>80; a speedometer of recent gains) on a turbo‑Nasdaq ETF (TQQQ) appears, buy UVXY, which jumps when fear spikes. Otherwise, split: 50% in BTAL (defensive: long safer stocks, short riskier ones) and 50% in whichever is calmest lately: TMF (3x long long‑term Treasuries), TMV (3x short), or SVXY (benefits when fear stays low).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: higher annualized return (24.99% vs 24.23%), lower max drawdown (17.96% vs 18.76%), and a stronger Calmar (1.39) with low beta—delivering steadier, risk-adjusted gains beyond the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
