About
A defensive, high-risk tactical strategy: if tech stocks look extremely overheated, it bets on a volatility spike; otherwise it holds a market-neutral fund plus the calmest recent choice among long bonds, short bonds, or short volatility.
This strategy first checks whether the tech market looks unusually overheated by looking at TQQQ, a turbocharged fund tied to big Nasdaq stocks. It uses RSI, a speedometer of recent price gains; above 80 means prices have run up very fast.
If that happens, it goes all-in on UVXY, a fund that usually rises when stock-market fear jumps.
If not, it splits money in half: one half goes to BTAL, a defensive fund designed to be less tied to the market, and the other half goes to whichever has been calmest lately among TMF (up on falling long-term rates), TMV (up on rising long-term rates), or SVXY (benefits when volatility stays calm).
Out-of-sample edge: ~23.3% annualized return and positive alpha vs the S&P 500, with strong Calmar risk control (~1.15). A regime-based volatility strategy combines upside potential with defensive bets; drawdowns may be larger in stress.
