About

Switches between SPY and BIL based on UVXY’s momentum. If UVXY is rising fast (RSI‑21 > 62), park in T‑Bills (BIL); otherwise own S&P 500 stocks (SPY). Stocks when calm, cash‑like when fear spikes. Checked and rebalanced daily.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks UVXY, a fund that jumps when stock‑market “fear” rises (it tracks short‑term VIX futures). It computes a 0–100 speed score (RSI) over ~21 trading days: higher = rising fast. If UVXY’s score > 62, it moves 100% to BIL (very short‑term T‑Bills, cash‑like). Otherwise it holds 100% SPY (the S&P 500: large U.S. stocks across sectors). Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe ~2.19, Calmar ~4.09, oos return ~32.7%, max drawdown ~8%, beta ~0.55. It stays in SPY in calm markets and moves to cash during spikes, delivering stronger risk-adjusted upside than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
