About

A daily “fear vs calm” switch: if VIXM (fear) heats up vs SVXY (calm), rotate into hedges and defensive names; if calm leads, load the strongest leveraged stock‑market funds. Equal-weight, momentum/mean‑reversion blend.
NutHow it works
Each day it compares a short‑term “hot/cold” score (RSI) of two volatility funds: VIXM (goes up when fear rises) vs SVXY (goes up when fear falls). If fear wins, it splits into a hedge (BTAL) plus the strongest defensives (utilities, staples, healthcare, Walmart/Costco) or energy up/down. If calm wins, it buys the hottest leveraged stock funds (SSO, QLD, UDOW) or energy. Equal‑weight; rotate daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~25.3% annualized returns vs S&P 500 ~20.3%; Sharpe ~1.11; max drawdown ~12.9% vs 18.8%; beta ~0.47. Higher risk-adjusted upside with better downside protection than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
