About

A daily tactical basket that buys volatility after sharp S&P 500 run-ups, shorts volatility when bonds lead, and otherwise rotates between leveraged Nasdaq and Treasuries or the dollar—using safety switches that park in T‑Bills when fear rises.
NutHow it works
Daily rules: If the S&P 500 just sprinted (RSI>72), it buys volatility funds (UVIX/UVXY/VIXM) to catch a pullback. Else if Treasuries beat cash, it shorts volatility (SVXY). Otherwise it rotates: bullish = 3x Nasdaq (TQQQ) + 3x long Treasuries (TMF); bearish = US dollar (UUP) + 3x short Treasuries (TMV). Safety: step into T‑Bills (BIL) when fear heats; “pop bot” adds UVXY when SPY/QQQ are extremely hot. Tickers: SPY S&P500; QQQ/TQQQ Nasdaq; UVIX/UVXY/VIXM/SVXY volatility; TLT/IEF/SHY/BIL Treasuries; TMF/TMV 3x long/short; UUP US dollar.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~37.5% vs S&P ~21.7%; beta ~0.48; Calmar ~1.27. A daily volatility-driven rotation with T-bill safety aims for higher upside and lower market exposure, though drawdowns can be larger (~29.5%) in crises.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
