About

Default: TQQQ. If short‑term “heat” is extreme in key ETFs, switch to VXX (long volatility). If a vol shock or sharp drop appears, step aside to BIL (cash‑like). Daily check toggles between offense (TQQQ), defense (VXX), and cash.
NutHow it works
Each day it uses a simple 0–100 “heat meter” (RSI over 10 days) on market barometers: XLP (staples), TQQQ (3× Nasdaq), XLY (consumer), FAS (financials), SPY. If any look very hot (≥75–80), it buys VXX, a fund that often jumps when fear spikes. Otherwise it holds TQQQ, unless a volatility shock hits: SVXY drops >7% in a day or TQQQ falls >12% in 6 days. Then it moves to BIL (T‑bills, cash‑like). Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~30% annualized return vs ~18% for the S&P, with larger drawdowns (~58% vs ~19%). A volatility-timing strategy using VXX/BIL to pursue upside while seeking protection—suited for growth-oriented, risk-tolerant investors.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
