About
A high-risk trading strategy that tries to profit from sharp swings in stocks and market fear, rotating between leveraged stock funds, volatility funds, and cash-like Treasuries.
This strategy watches how “overheated” or “washed out” the U.S. stock market looks using a short-term momentum gauge called RSI. If big stock indexes look too hot, it often shifts into funds that rise when market fear jumps. If stocks look deeply sold off, it may buy leveraged tech or S&P 500 funds for a rebound. If nothing stands out, it parks in very short-term Treasury bills or short-term bonds.
Out-of-sample, this strategy beats the S&P on risk-adjusted returns: ~35.5% vs 19.6% annualized, Sharpe ~1.38 vs 1.26, Calmar ~1.93, max drawdown ~18.4%. It shifts to volatility/levered tech or cash on signals for upside with controlled risk.
