About

Daily tactical strategy using a 0–100 heat meter of recent price moves. Buys VIX-based funds when tech/market look too hot, buys 3x bull funds when they look washed out, otherwise holds T‑bills. Heavy tech/vol exposure; very high risk.
NutHow it works
It watches a short-term heat meter (RSI, 0–100) on QQQ (Nasdaq 100), SPY (S&P 500), XLK (tech), VOOG (S&P growth), and 3x versions TQQQ/SPXL. Too hot: buy volatility funds that jump when stocks drop—UVXY (leveraged VIX), VIXY (VIX), VIXM (less jumpy). Too cold: buy rebound plays—TECL (3x tech), SPXL (3x S&P), or SVXY (benefits when volatility calms). Else: park in BIL (T‑bills) or BSV (short bonds). ~55% keys off TQQQ; ~30% off smaller “aggressive/safe” triggers; ~15% off SPY. Daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return 25.18% vs 22.21% for the S&P, with similar drawdown (~18.4%). Calmar ~1.37 indicates strong risk-adjusted performance. A tactical volatility/tech tilt seeks higher growth than a plain S&P hold.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
