A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

Daily, it watches SPY’s “speed” gauge (RSI). After fast drops it buys a spiky fear fund (ZVOL, with a safety shutoff). After sharp rallies it buys a calmer vol fund (VXZ). Otherwise it sits in cash‑like bonds (PULS). High risk due to volatility ETPs.
NutHow it works
Each day it reads a 0–100 “speed” gauge (RSI) on SPY over 9 short lookbacks. If SPY fell fast (RSI<25), it buys a fear fund (ZVOL) unless fear is already red‑hot (UVXY RSI>70), then it parks in a cash‑like bond (PULS). If SPY surged (RSI>80), it buys a calmer volatility fund (VXZ). Otherwise it holds PULS. The nine slices are blended, weighted to the shortest.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy yields 28.68% annualized return with 5.70% max drawdown and a 2.60 Sharpe (Calmar 5.03) vs SPY's 14.82% return, 18.76% drawdown, and 0.83 Sharpe. Higher upside, far tighter risk than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
