About

A small, tactical hedge that mostly sits in cash and, based on how “hot” SPY looks, rotates among volatility funds, long Treasuries, gold, and emerging markets to move differently than SPY/QQQ.
NutHow it works
It watches how “hot” the S&P 500 (SPY) looks using a short-term speedometer (RSI). - If SPY is extremely hot, it splits into fear/defense (UVXY + long Treasuries). - If fairly hot, it buys the 3 most beaten-down defensive choices. - Otherwise, it buys the 3 strongest diversifiers (volatility, gold, EM). Most capital stays in cash; only a small sleeve is active.
CheckmarkValue prop
Diversified, low-correlation ballast to SPY. Out-of-sample: max drawdown 11.39% vs SPY 18.76%, Calmar 1.34, ~15% annualized (vs SPY ~22%). Lower risk, smoother returns, still participates in upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
