About
A tech-focused strategy that usually buys VGT, but steps into fear hedges, defensive funds, cash, or bearish positions when the market looks overheated or weak.
This strategy mainly wants to own VGT, a fund full of big U.S. technology companies. But it first checks whether the market looks too hot, too weak, or deeply beaten down.
If stocks have surged too fast, it moves into a defense mix using VIXY (which tends to rise when fear jumps) plus defensive funds. If tech or the market has fallen hard, it buys VGT for a rebound. In weak market trends, it may hide in short-term Treasury bills or use a fund that profits when the Nasdaq falls.
Near-parity out-of-sample returns with a tech tilt and tactical hedges that diversify a core S&P 500 holding. Potential upside in tech rallies, plus built-in risk controls for overheated or weak markets—a complementary, growth-focused ballast.
