A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A daily, high-octane switcher. It uses chip-stock leadership, simple hot/cold readings, and the bond trend to rotate among 3x tech/semis, inverse ETFs, and volatility (UVXY). Goal: ride strength, fade excess, and defend quickly in selloffs.
NutHow it works
First it checks if chip stocks are leading (SOXL); that picks an offense or defense playbook. It then reads simple hot/cold gauges on the S&P 500. Too hot? Buy fear (UVXY/VIXY) or flip short (SOXS/SQQQ). Too cold? Buy the dip (SOXL/TECL) only if bonds agree. A bond trend check (TLT/SPTL vs T‑Bills) chooses TMF (falling rates) or TMV (rising rates) and sets risk. In downtrends it leans to hedges, dollar, and energy. Holds 1 ETF, rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~58.6% annualized return vs 21.9% for the S&P, with alpha ~0.41 and Calmar ~1.18. For risk-tolerant investors, a growth edge via daily rotations and hedges—accept higher drawdowns for bigger upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
