About

A rule-based, multi-asset rotation that toggles between leveraged tech/beta ETFs and hedges (bills, bonds, dollar bets) using RSI, moving averages, and cross-asset checks to follow trends while guarding against drawdowns. High risk, high complexity.
NutHow it works
- The system sits in a root that oversees a large set of conditional blocks. It begins by evaluating the market using RSI on SPY (a broad market proxy) over a 10-day window. If SPY is very overbought (RSI above about 79), it moves toward cash-like protections (BIL) and may buy volatility/hedges. - If not overbought, it traverses another path that looks at leverage-tuned technology and semiconductor exposure (SOXL, TECL) or broad-leverage plays (TQQQ, SPXL) depending on other momentum checks and price trends. - It frequently uses moving-average comparisons (both price and return) and exponential moving averages across several windows (5–360 days) to judge whether an asset is in an uptrend, a downtrend, or a neutral state. - When signals disagree or when regime checks conflict, the model can tilt toward defensive assets (BIL, SHY, IEF, TMF/TMV) or diversify to other assets like EWZ (Brazil), USDU (strong dollar), EPI (India), or UUP (another dollar-related signal). - The allocations use simple weights (e.g., 100/100, 50/100) and sometimes rank candidates with a top/bottom filter across short lists (select top/bottom 1, etc.). - The strategy contains many nested branches intended to prevent poor entries and to verify signals with multiple corroborating checks (e.g., bone-dry oversold conditions verified with bond signals; extremely overbought conditions checked against moving-average trends). - The general aim is to ride uptrends in leveraged tech and broad market exposures when signals align, and to retreat to cash/bonds/defensive currency plays when signals indicate risk-off.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this rule-based rotation diversifies beyond SPY, aiming to capture tech upside with hedges for risk-off regimes. It offers disciplined risk control and a positive risk-adjusted profile, though drawdowns can be larger in severe markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.

The symphony is currently performing the same as yesterday today. Performance updates in real time during market hours.
