A rules-based strategy that aggressively buys tech-heavy funds after favorable pullbacks, but often moves into BTAL or bond/dollar-related funds when the market looks overheated, fragile, or interest-rate conditions turn hostile.

This strategy constantly asks: are stocks too hot, too beaten down, or in a healthy trend? If the market looks overheated, it hides in BTAL, a defensive fund that tries to hold up when high-risk stocks struggle. If the market has fallen hard, it often buys aggressive tech or semiconductor funds for a rebound. It also watches bonds, interest-rate trends, the U.S. dollar, and commodities to decide when to stay aggressive and when to play defense.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
