About

A tactical “surfing” strategy. In calm markets, split between the most beaten‑down fund and recent winners (SPY/QQQ/tech set). In volatile markets, switch to long/short 20+yr Treasuries—or, if bonds are calm, rotate among SPY/QQQ, commodities, dollar, staples, and SHY.
NutHow it works
It watches UVXY (a volatility/fear fund). If fear isn’t too hot, split money: 50% into the single most “oversold” fund (from SPY, QQQ, tech/semis, or SHY) and 50% into the 2 best 20‑day performers from that same list. If fear is high, it either: (a) holds whichever 20+yr Treasury fund (TMF long or TMV inverse) looks steadier over 5 days, or (b) when both are calm, rotates among SPY/QQQ, commodities (DBC/DBA), the US dollar (UUP), staples (XLP), and SHY using the same oversold+momentum mix.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~46.4% annualized return vs SPY ~21%. Volatility-gated, regime-switching mix of mean-reversion and momentum aims for standout upside and diversified exposure beyond the S&P, accepting higher drawdowns in crises.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
