About

Monthly, ~80% follows a simple switch: if bonds (BND) gained over ~3 months, buy the dip in leveraged stock funds; if not, go defensive (inverse bonds, energy/USD, bearish equity or gold miners), with a panic hedge on sharp SPY drops. ~20% rotates one contrarian pick.
NutHow it works
Each month: 1) Panic check: if the S&P 500 plunged over ~2 weeks, the core shifts into hedges (long Treasuries or inverse stock funds) that are holding up best. 2) Otherwise, bonds set risk: if a broad bond fund (BND) rose over ~3 months, it “buys the dip” in leveraged stock funds (tech/semis/S&P/financials). If bonds fell, it goes defensive—when rates seem to be rising it prefers inverse long‑bond, energy/USD and a bear stock or gold‑miner fund; when rates seem to be falling it favors T‑Bills, short junk bonds or gold miners. 3) A small sleeve (~20%) makes one contrarian pick each month. High risk: uses daily‑reset leveraged ETFs.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~29% annual return vs SPY ~20.6%. Dynamic hedging and monthly rotations seek higher growth with leveraged bets, but expect larger drawdowns (≈54%). Ideal for growth-focused investors willing to tolerate volatility. K-1 free.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
