About
Monthly, 80% switches between leveraged growth funds and defensive hedges using a bond trend signal (BND vs BSV). A fast “panic” check cuts risk after sharp drops. The other 20% rotates a diversifier by recent strength. Uses leveraged/inverse ETFs.
Monthly: 1) Panic check: if the S&P 500 (SPY) just fell sharply, shift to safety/hedges (Treasuries, volatility, inverse stock funds, market‑neutral BTAL). 2) Core 80%: compare BND (broad bonds) vs BSV (short bonds) over ~3 months. If BND is stronger, own 4 strong growth ETFs (e.g., TQQQ/UPRO/TECL/SOXL). If not, use hedges: short Nasdaq, short long‑Treasuries, energy, US$, or gold/T‑bills. 3) Satellite 20%: a simple recent‑strength score (RSI) picks one diversifier.
Out-of-sample edge: 37.24% annualized return vs 22.87% for the S&P, aided by a panic safety net and regime-based leverage. Higher upside, but larger drawdowns (~45% vs ~19%), with active risk management to navigate volatility.
