About

Aggressive, tactical plan: normally 3x S&P 500 (UPRO). If markets look overheated, it pivots to UVXY. Uses bonds vs T‑bills to judge rates; in drawdowns/volatility may switch to long Treasuries. In rising‑rate regimes, mixes UPRO with gold/treasuries/US dollar.
NutHow it works
Usually holds UPRO (3x S&P 500). If the market looks overheated, it switches to UVXY (a volatility spike fund) briefly. Otherwise it infers the rate trend by comparing bonds vs T‑bills. If rates steady/falling: stay in UPRO, unless a fresh 15‑day >5% drop with high vol, then use TMF (3x long Treasuries). If rates rising: hold 33% UPRO + 67% of the best two among GLD (gold), IEF (7–10y Treasuries), UUP (US dollar) on a bond bounce; otherwise just those hedges.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted returns than the S&P 500: Sharpe ~1.11 vs ~0.98, Calmar ~1.12, and ~58% annualized return vs ~17% for SPY, with much lower beta (~0.69). Note: drawdowns can be larger in extreme crises.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
