About

A rules-based “risk-on/risk-off” strategy. When bonds beat cash, it favors U.S. stocks via UPRO. If stocks tumble and volatility spikes, it can flip to TMF. When bonds lag cash (rising rates), it shifts into cash and the strongest hedges (gold, Treasuries, or the U.S. dollar).
NutHow it works
It first asks: have bonds beaten cash over the last ~2 months? If yes, it usually holds UPRO (3x S&P 500). If a sharp recent stock drop and high volatility appear, it can temporarily switch to TMF (3x long Treasuries). If bonds lag cash (rates rising), it goes defensive: either ~33% UPRO + ~67% in the two strongest of GLD (gold), IEF (7–10yr Treasuries), UUP (U.S. dollar), TMF—or, if bonds are still falling, mostly cash plus those two hedges.
CheckmarkValue prop
Macro-driven, risk-managed strategy that switches between leveraged equities and hedges (TMF, GLD, IEF, UUP) to protect capital in volatility and rising-rate regimes. Out-of-sample: ~13.9% annualized with diversification vs. S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
