This strategy acts like a market weather system. If the broad U.S. stock market is in a healthy long-term uptrend, it usually buys aggressive tech funds. If stocks look too overheated, it may flip into funds that rise when markets fall or when fear spikes. If the market is in a downtrend, it becomes more defensive, mixing short-term bonds, U.S. dollar, gold, long Treasury bonds, or bearish stock funds. It also tries to “buy the dip” after sharp selloffs by picking the most beaten-down option.
