About

A daily, tactical energy strategy. It rides oil/nat‑gas uptrends with leveraged ETFs, fades extreme spikes, and flips to cash or bearish/defensive funds in selloffs. Uses moving averages (trend) and RSI (heat) on XLE, USO, UNG, and DBE to time entries and exits.
NutHow it works
What it does: trades energy daily. It rides uptrends in oil/gas and steps aside or shorts when things get shaky. How it decides: - Trend: compares price to its recent average (a moving average). Above it = uptrend, below = downtrend. - “Heat” (RSI): a 0–100 score of how fast price has run. High = overbought, low = oversold. - If commodities and energy are strong, it buys energy (XLE), oil (USO) and nat‑gas (UNG) via amplified funds (e.g., GUSH/BOIL). If moves look overdone, it takes the opposite side (e.g., DRIP/KOLD) or parks in T‑bills (BIL). If commodities turn weak, it rotates to defensive funds (e.g., BTAL, SVOL) or inverse energy ETFs.
CheckmarkValue prop
Energy-tactical strategy with low S&P beta offers portfolio diversification. Out-of-sample Sharpe ~0.35 and Calmar ~0.15 signal risk-aware, regime-driven gains. Drawdowns can be larger, but it can complement core equities and exploit energy cycles.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
