About
An aggressive market-timing strategy: in good markets it holds leveraged US stocks plus long Treasuries; in rough markets it mostly sits in T-bills and only buys sharp index selloffs.
This strategy first asks: is the market in a rough year or a healthy one?
If the past year has been shaky, it mostly hides in very short-term Treasury bills (BIL), which acts like a cash parking spot. It only buys after a sharp 5-day drop in the Nasdaq-100 or S&P 500, using aggressive 3x funds (TQQQ or UPRO). If those funds already jumped more than 5% in a day, it waits in BIL instead of chasing the rebound.
If the market has been healthier, it uses a more aggressive mix: mostly 3x US stock funds (UPRO and TQQQ) plus a 3x long-term Treasury bond fund (TMF). If the market starts dropping too hard in the short term, it exits to BIL.
Dynamic, regime-switching strategy that leverages in healthy markets and seeks cash in stress to chase dips and protect capital. Out-of-sample: 15.8% annualized return, 35.5% max drawdown, Sharpe 0.58. Diversifies SPY exposure.
