About

A daily, rules-based switcher around high-growth tech. It rides uptrends with TQQQ, uses semiconductors (SOXL/SOXS) to play or fade sharp swings, and falls back to a BTAL/SQQQ hedge when risk spikes—guided by recent drops, trend, and bond‑market stress.
NutHow it works
What it trades: TQQQ (3x up NASDAQ‑100), SQQQ (3x down NASDAQ‑100), SOXL/SOXS (3x up/down semiconductors), BTAL (defensive long‑low‑risk/short‑high‑risk), plus bond ETFs as signals. Rules (daily): - If tech looks extremely “hot,” it briefly shorts semis (SOXS) to fade a pull‑back risk. - If tech just crashed (~>13% in 6 days): after a big 1‑day bounce it uses SOXS; otherwise it buys SOXL for a snap‑back—unless bond stress is high, then it holds 60% BTAL/40% SQQQ. - In normal times: if recent drops or bond stress are high, it holds BTAL/SQQQ. If QQQ is above its 25‑day average, it buys TQQQ. If not, it checks slower stock‑vs‑bond momentum to choose between TQQQ and BTAL/SQQQ. Note: uses 3x funds—big swings possible.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return about 25% vs the S&P 500’s about 23%, driven by a rules-based tech/semiconductor strategy with dynamic hedges (BTAL/SQQQ). Higher upside potential with risk controls, though downturns can be larger.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
