About

A rules-driven, short-term strategy that rotates among 3x Tech/Nasdaq and Semiconductor ETFs, their inverse hedges, and T‑Bills. It uses simple trend checks, a 0–100 “hot/cold” score, bond signals, and volatility filters to ride uptrends and hedge shocks.
NutHow it works
It’s a rules-based “risk switch.” 1) If the S&P 500 is below its 5‑day average, it gets cautious; above it, more bullish. 2) It reads the bond market to judge risk. 3) It uses a 0–100 “hot/cold” score (RSI: >70 too hot, <30 too cold) to fade spikes or buy dips. 4) When trends are healthy, it rides fast movers (3x Tech/Nasdaq, Semis). When risk rises, it shifts to inverse funds or T‑Bills (cash‑like).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy offers higher upside (36.5% annualized vs SPY 20.9%) with disciplined risk controls and a Calmar ~1.06. It targets fast-tech/semis while hedging shocks, though drawdowns can be larger (34.6% vs 18.8%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
