About

A no-K-1, rule-driven hedged equity strategy anchored on BTAL, combining it with selective long ETFs. It uses momentum and trend signals (RSI, moving averages) plus volatility checks to tilt between 30/70 (BTAL/long) and 70/30 allocations, switching assets within each tilt to adapt to market regime with very conservative rebalancing.
NutHow it works
A rule-based system centers on BTAL as a hedge and blends it with long exposure through various ETFs. Signals come from momentum/strength indicators (RSI), trend checks (price vs moving averages), and volatility/momentum filters. The tree selects either a 30% BTAL / 70% long mix or a 70% BTAL / 30% long mix, switching assets inside each mix based on nested conditions. The portfolio evolves with market regime: more hedge in risk-off periods, more long exposure in risk-on periods. Rebalancing is very conservative (tiny corridor). The design aims to be K-1 free and tax-friendly using ETF constructs. Key actors to know (simplified): BTAL = hedge; UPRO/TECL/etc. = long bets; SPY, XLE, XLY, etc. = market/sector bets. RSI and moving averages are just ways to gauge momentum and trend.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
