About

A tactical, high‑risk strategy that “sells rips” and “buys dips,” rotating between leveraged tech/semis and hedges (UVXY, inverse ETFs, bonds/cash) using overbought/oversold, volatility, and bond‑trend signals.
NutHow it works
It’s a fast, rules-based switcher. When tech/semis rip higher or RSI reads “hot,” it defends (UVXY = bet on VIX spikes, or inverse ETFs/cash). When they look washed‑out (low RSI or big drops), it buys 3× tech/semis (TECL, SOXL, TQQQ). Bond trends steer TMF/TMV; if risk rises it prefers cash/T‑bills (BIL), gold (UGL), commodities (DBC), or dividend funds (SCHD/DGRO).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers far stronger risk-adjusted gains: annualized return ~86.8% vs 22.9% (SPY); Sharpe ~1.84 vs 1.41; Calmar ~3.15. Drawdowns are higher (27.5% vs 18.8%), but hedges/rotation aim for bigger upside with controlled risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
