About

A rules-based, daily strategy centered on the Nasdaq 100. It owns QQQ (or 2x QLD) in uptrends, shifts to Treasuries or inverse QQQ in downtrends, and sometimes shorts semiconductors after extreme spikes. Uses RSI, moving averages, and recent returns.
NutHow it works
Core idea: ride the Nasdaq 100 uptrend, but cut risk or go short when it weakens—and fade extreme spikes. Instruments: QQQ (Nasdaq 100), SPY (S&P 500), SMH (semis), TLT/IEF/SHV (Treasuries), QLD +2x / QID −2x / PSQ −1x / TQQQ +3x / SOXS −3x / USD +2x. Signals: RSI (0–100 “heat” gauge), 20/200‑day trend lines, recent % moves. Actions: Above trend hold QQQ/QLD unless overheated (then bonds or SOXS). Below trend or big drawdowns use bonds or inverse QQQ. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return: 37.7% vs 22.9% for the S&P, with Calmar ~1.63 and Sharpe ~1.21. Tech-led upside plus Treasury hedges; higher drawdowns (~23%) but potential for superior long-run growth versus the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
