About

A rules-based switcher that moves between tech-heavy stocks, broad market, cash-like Treasuries, the U.S. dollar, and commodities. It uses simple “trend” and “overbought/oversold” checks to buy strength, fade extremes, or seek safety—using K‑1‑free funds.
NutHow it works
1) Big switch: If the S&P 500 is above its 200‑day average, it’s “risk‑on”; otherwise “risk‑off.” 2) In risk‑on: avoid overheated tech by briefly hedging; otherwise hold Nasdaq (QQQ) plus a sleeve that checks bond and dollar trends to pick stocks or USD/commodities/hedges. 3) In risk‑off: try to buy bounces when things look washed out; if not, rotate between inverse Nasdaq or short‑term Treasuries, and the same bond/dollar sleeve. Short lookbacks favor the safer or more beaten‑up choice.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers ~33% annualized return with ~17.70% max drawdown (Calmar ~1.86) versus SPY’s ~25.72% return and ~18.76% drawdown. Higher risk-adjusted growth with diversified, rules-based rotations.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
