A rules-based “all weather” portfolio that aggressively trades U.S. stocks when trends look good, turns defensive or bearish when markets weaken, and keeps a separate sleeve in commodities, gold, and bonds for diversification.

This strategy splits money between two jobs: growth and protection. The growth side mainly trades big U.S. stock indexes like the S&P 500 and Nasdaq, sometimes using boosted funds that magnify gains and losses. It checks whether the market trend is healthy, overheated, crashing, or rebounding, then shifts among stocks, bonds, or bearish funds that rise when stocks fall. The protection side watches commodities, gold-related stocks, and Treasury bonds. If those areas are in strong trends, it owns them; if not, it parks in very short-term Treasuries.

Out-of-sample edge: 23.12% annualized return vs 21.96% for the S&P 500, Sharpe ~1.46 vs ~1.42, and a slightly smaller drawdown (~18.53% vs ~18.76%). Diversified, trend-following, all-weather risk controls.
