A half-defensive, half-tactical strategy that mixes bonds, defensive stock funds, the U.S. dollar, and occasional leveraged Nasdaq bets when tech looks washed out.

This strategy splits money into two halves. One half stays conservative: it always keeps some U.S. Treasury bonds, and in calmer markets it also owns defensive stock funds focused on everyday products and dividend-paying companies. If the market gets shaky, it moves more of this half into bonds. If tech stocks have been heavily sold, it may buy QLD, a fund that aims to move about 2x the daily return of the Nasdaq-100. The other half is a more tactical “betting” sleeve. It always keeps some money in USDU, a fund tied to a strong U.S. dollar. The rest switches among QLD, Treasury bonds, or more USDU based on a few simple checks: has tech fallen hard lately, is the market unusually jumpy, or did QLD just surge too far too fast? In rough markets it prefers bonds or the dollar; after sharp selloffs it may buy QLD for a rebound.
