A fast-moving market-timing strategy that swings between bullish tech/chips, bearish tech/chips, Nasdaq, the U.S. dollar, defensive stocks, and some commodities based on trend and “overheated/oversold” signals.

This strategy checks the market every day and asks a few simple questions: Are bonds acting defensive? Is the stock market overheated or washed out? Is tech trending up? Is the U.S. dollar strong? Based on those answers, it shifts into one of several modes: aggressive bets on chip/tech stocks, aggressive bets against them, plain Nasdaq exposure, or defensive positions in the U.S. dollar, a low-risk stock fund, and sometimes commodities like oil or materials.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
