A market-fear switching strategy: it usually bets on calm markets with SVXY, but flips to UVXY when many stock groups look too hot or stressed, and sometimes hides in T-bills after sharp tech selloffs.

This strategy is usually making one big bet at a time. It checks whether the stock market looks overheated by looking at many areas like tech, value, energy, financials, and consumer stocks. If too many have risen too fast lately, it buys UVXY, a fund that tends to jump when market fear spikes. If markets do not look overheated, it normally holds SVXY, a fund that benefits when market fear stays calm or falls. But if fast-moving tech stocks have just dropped hard, it avoids that bet and may move to BIL, a cash-like Treasury fund.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
