About
An aggressive daily strategy that uses the Nasdaq’s long-term trend to switch between leveraged tech, a bet against tech, a fear/volatility trade, or short-term Treasuries.
This strategy watches a turbocharged Nasdaq fund (TQQQ) every day.
If TQQQ is above its 200-day average price, the market is treated as healthy. It usually buys TQQQ, unless TQQQ has risen too fast recently; then it switches to UVXY, a fund that can surge when fear spikes.
If TQQQ is below its 200-day average, the market is treated as weak. If TQQQ looks very beaten down, it buys TECL for a rebound. Otherwise it picks either SQQQ (a bet against the Nasdaq) or SCHO (short-term Treasuries) based on which has stronger recent momentum.
Out-of-sample, this 3x leveraged Nasdaq strategy aims for tech upside with hedges; about 45% annualized return vs ~21% for the S&P, Calmar ~1.18, Sharpe ~0.94. More upside in rallies, but bigger drawdowns in downturns.
