About

Daily, rules-based swing strategy for the Nasdaq/tech complex. It toggles between leveraged up bets and protection (inverse and volatility funds) using a heat gauge (RSI), fear gauges (VIX funds), and a bond check to decide risk‑on vs risk‑off.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks simple gauges: RSI (0–100 heat gauge; high=overheated, low=washed‑out) on tech funds and VIX funds (fear gauges that jump when markets panic). If tech looks too hot, it flips into protection that benefits from drops (inverse Nasdaq/semis and volatility funds). Otherwise it picks a mix of bullish tech funds (QQQ/TQQQ, TECL/SOXL) or hedges (PSQ/SQQQ, BTAL) using those gauges and a bond check (Treasuries vs high‑beta). Position sizes reflect recent volatility.
CheckmarkValue prop
Adaptive Nasdaq/tech strategy with superior out-of-sample results vs the S&P 500: Sharpe 1.59 vs 1.46, annualized return 70.7% vs 24.4%, alpha 0.27, Calmar 1.82. Higher upside but larger drawdowns (~39% vs ~19%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
