A defensive market-timing strategy that usually sits in short-term Treasury bills, but buys VIXY to bet on rising market fear when stocks look overheated or after sharp tech turbulence.
NutHow it works
This strategy only owns one of two funds: VIXY or BIL. It first checks whether parts of the stock market look unusually overheated using a “temperature gauge” called RSI. If any of several stock funds look too hot, it buys VIXY, which tends to rise when market fear jumps. If nothing looks overheated, it checks whether aggressive tech stocks recently fell hard and then snapped back. If yes, it also buys VIXY. Otherwise, it parks in BIL, a very short-term Treasury bill fund.
