About

Rules-based, K‑1‑free portfolio: 53% trend-following bonds vs US dollar, 17% commodity momentum, 30% tactical Nasdaq that can go long, short, or income. Uses simple ‘hot/cold’ and trend signals to lean into strength and cut risk.
NutHow it works
The portfolio is split into 3 sleeves: 53% Bonds, 30% Broad Market (Nasdaq‑focused), 17% Commodities. Bonds: own BND when its trend is rising; otherwise hold a long‑US‑dollar fund (USDU). Commodities: pick the 2 strongest of PDBC (broad commodities), GDX (gold miners), SPY, TLT, FLOT by recent performance. Broad Market: a rule engine that switches among TQQQ (long Nasdaq), PSQ/SQQQ (short), or JEPQ (lower‑risk income) using simple “hot/cold” readings (RSI), trend checks, and volatility spikes.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample strength: higher risk-adjusted return with far smaller drawdowns. Sharpe 1.77 vs 1.39; Calmar 2.97; max DD 6.65% vs 18.76%. Annualized ~19.76% vs SPY ~23.30%. Less downside, steadier growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
