About

A rules-based “offense vs defense” plan. In healthy uptrends it holds stocks (and sometimes a 2x Nasdaq fund when markets are calm). When trends weaken or markets look hot, it tilts to Treasuries and defensive stocks, and in deep bears may use an inverse Nasdaq fund.
NutHow it works
Step 1: Decide the backdrop. If the S&P 500’s long‑term trend is up, it’s a “secular bull”; if not, it’s a “secular bear.” Step 2: Check the shorter trend. If up, own stocks (SPY) or, when day‑to‑day swings are small, a 2x Nasdaq fund (QLD). If the market looks overheated, mix in long‑term Treasuries (TLT). Step 3: If trend weakens, shift toward bonds (SHY/IEI/IEF/TLT) and defensive stocks (XLP). In deep bear phases, it may use a fund that rises when the Nasdaq falls (PSQ). Briefly buy tech on sharp sell‑offs (XLK or SOXX).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return ~39%/yr vs ~21% for the S&P; Calmar ~1.40. Regime-switching tilts to Treasuries/defensives in risk and captures tech gains in calm uptrends, offering higher upside with controlled risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
