About

Quarterly rotation that first decides risk using bonds vs cash. If green, buy 4 leveraged growth ETFs that recently dipped. If red, choose defensive/hedge ETFs based on whether rates are rising or falling. Optional add-on also tilts by rate trend.
NutHow it works
Once a quarter it asks: are bonds doing better than cash-like T‑Bills? If yes (risk ON), buy 4 aggressive growth funds (tech/semis/Nasdaq/S&P) that have dipped most recently, using a short-term “hot/cold” score (RSI; low = recently cold). If no (risk OFF), it checks interest rates. If rates look like they’re rising, hold hedges (inverse stocks, short long‑term bonds, staples/energy, sometimes USD). If rates look like they’re falling, hold defensive stocks, Treasuries, and gold. Hold until next quarter.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets higher growth (28.93% p.a. vs SPY 22.55% p.a.) via a disciplined quarterly regime and mean-reversion picks. Caveat: larger drawdowns (~39% vs ~19%) and lower Sharpe than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
