About

A fast, rules-based swing strategy that flips between leveraged bull funds, hedges/cash, and volatility spikes using simple heat and trend gauges. Buys laggards in uptrends; defends or shorts in stress. Very high risk and turnover.
NutHow it works
It’s a daily rule-based trader. It reads two simple gauges: RSI (a 0–100 heat gauge; >70 = very hot, <30 = very cold) and moving averages (trend lines). If bonds look stronger than cash, it leans risk‑on; otherwise risk‑off. When stocks get too hot, it briefly buys volatility (UVXY). In uptrends it buys 2 recent laggards from 3x tech/S&P/semis or long bonds (TQQQ, SPXL, SOXL, UPRO, TMF). In weak markets it moves to safety/hedges (BSV, BIL, AGG, UUP) or uses 3x inverse funds (SQQQ, SPXS, SOXS).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~20% annualized return but higher risk and bigger drawdowns (~49%) vs SPY (~19%). Tactical leverage + volatility hedges seek upside in bull regimes and protection in stress—best as a satellite to SPY, not core.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
