A weekly market-timing strategy: hide in the U.S. dollar during panic, buy the strongest big U.S. stocks in healthy markets, and rotate into bonds/commodities when conditions weaken.

Once a week, this strategy checks the market’s “weather.” If fear is suddenly spiking, it moves into USDU, a fund that benefits when the U.S. dollar gets stronger. If fear is calm and TIP (a bond fund tied to inflation-protected U.S. Treasuries) has been rising over the last 60 days, it buys the strongest recent large U.S. stocks—mostly names like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Tesla, and Google. If TIP has been weak, it avoids stocks and shifts into the strongest mix of commodities, bonds, and dollar-related funds.

Out-of-sample annualized return 27.2% vs SPY 22.8%, with Calmar ~0.73 and Sharpe ~1.38. Regime-switching momentum: USD in panics, top stocks in growth periods—higher upside with active risk management (drawdowns can rise in crises).
