About

A simple switcher: when bonds are moving hard, it picks TMF (up when bonds rise) or TMV (up when bonds fall) based on which had the gentler 5‑day pullback. When bonds are calm, it holds SPY. Aims to profit from rate swings and hedge stock volatility.
NutHow it works
It watches two bond funds tied to long‑term US Treasuries: TMF (wins when bond prices rise) and TMV (wins when they fall). It looks at the last 5 days’ worst drop from a recent high. If both funds’ worst drop is under 10%, it holds SPY. Otherwise, it buys the one (TMF or TMV) with the smaller worst drop and stays 100% there until the signal changes.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return ~23.25% with Sharpe ~0.98 and Calmar ~0.92. Delivers near-SPY performance but adds bond-hedged diversification to damp rate-driven risk; note higher drawdowns in some regimes.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
