About
A fast-moving strategy that mostly bets on big U.S. tech when trends are strong, turns defensive when markets weaken, and can use inverse Nasdaq or long-term Treasury bonds for protection.
This strategy checks the market every day.
First it asks: is the broad U.S. stock market healthy? It uses SPY (a stand-in for the S&P 500) and compares today’s price to its 200-day average. If the market looks healthy, it mainly tries to own the Nasdaq through QQQ or the more aggressive 2x version, QLD. If the Nasdaq looks too overheated, it briefly switches to QID, which rises when the Nasdaq falls.
If the market looks unhealthy, it looks for short-term bounce opportunities in QLD or SSO. If no bounce setup appears and tech still looks weak, it may split money between QID (betting against Nasdaq), TLT (long-term Treasury bonds), and sometimes QLD, based on which is acting stronger.
Out-of-sample edge: ~43.8% annualized return vs SPY 20.6%; Sharpe ~1.28; Calmar ~1.35. Higher drawdowns (~32% vs ~19%), but levered tech bets and adaptive hedges aim for bigger upside while staying risk-aware.
