About

Bonds-as-a-barometer. If bonds look healthy, split between JEPI and a high‑octane S&P booster (HIBL). If bonds look weak, rotate into two defensive/alternative funds chosen as the most recently sold off from BTAL/UGL and DBMF/PST.
NutHow it works
It checks a short, 10‑day trend in bonds: is a broad bond fund (BND) doing better than an inverse‑Treasury fund (TBX)? If yes, hold 50% JEPI (income‑focused U.S. stocks) and 50% HIBL (very aggressive 3x high‑beta S&P). If not, hold two picks 50/50: one from BTAL vs UGL and one from DBMF vs PST—within each pair it buys the one that’s been more sold off over ~2 weeks. It mainly changes when signals flip or weights drift ~2%.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~39.7% annualized return vs SPY’s ~23.5%, positive alpha and Calmar ~1.17. Strong upside with diversification and regime timing hedges; note larger drawdowns (~34% vs ~19%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
