A daily strategy that uses SPY as a market stress gauge, usually betting against volatility in calm markets and shifting to volatility or defensive diversifiers when stocks weaken.

Each day, the strategy checks SPY, an ETF that tracks the S&P 500 and acts like a reading on the U.S. stock market. If the market looks healthy, it often buys SVIX, a fund that benefits when market fear falls. If the market shows short-term stress, it may switch to volatility funds like VXX/UVXY or to BTAL, a fund designed to do better than aggressive stocks in shaky markets. If the market trend is weak, it moves into a more defensive mix such as BTAL, short-term Treasury funds, gold, energy, or broad commodities.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers.
