About

Daily, gold‑centric tactic: buy gold/miners on sharp dips, ride uptrends (sometimes with leverage), short miners when overheated, and park in Treasuries, the dollar, or value stocks when choppy. High risk due to leveraged/inverse ETFs.
NutHow it works
It runs daily and mostly trades gold funds: GLD (tracks gold) and GDX (gold miners). It judges “washed‑out” or “too hot” using a 0–100 speedometer of recent moves and simple averages of recent prices. If washed‑out, it buys leveraged gold/miner funds (UGL, NUGT) for a bounce. If the trend is up, it holds gold (sometimes with leverage). If prices look overheated, it briefly bets against miners (DUST/JDST) or hedges. If trend is weak, it rotates to BIL/SHY/SHV (T‑bills), UUP (U.S. dollar), SPYV (value stocks), or SVXY (benefits if volatility falls).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample this gold-focused strategy targets ~34.6% annual return with higher risk-adjusted Sharpe (~1.33) vs the S&P (~1.25) and Calmar ~1.56. It buys gold dips and hedges in chop; drawdowns can reach ~22%.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
