About

A regime-aware, multi-stream ETF strategy that combines dip-buy opportunities with momentum-based stock/sector picks and an aggressive risk-on/off engine, balanced by a defensive Safety Mix to aim for growth with downside protection.
NutHow it works
The strategy runs three main streams that are kept in balance by cash-equal weighting. First, Bear BUYDIPS looks for dip opportunities in Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 and, when signals confirm, tilts toward growth bets using leveraged or inverse-leaning ETFs (e.g., UPRO, TQQQ) but only after multiple price/momentum checks. Second, Fund Surfing picks top or bottom performers using momentum-like signals (RSI and relative strength) across a diversified set of assets, adding or rotating into those that look strongest. Third, Agressive Battleship III is a momentum/risk-control module that flips between risk-on bets and hedges based on volatility and trend signals (e.g., UVXY, SPXU, UPRO, TMF/TMV, TECL, SOXL) and includes inflation/commodity hedges (DBC, GLD, UUP). Throughout, a Safety Mix (dollar, gold, staples, short-duration bonds) sits as a defensive core and is used when risk metrics exceed thresholds. The system uses look-back windows (1–400 days) and drawdown/moving-average checks to avoid false signals. The result is a dynamic, regime-aware allocation that seeks growth in favorable conditions while leaning on hedges when risk rises. Signal logic is rule-based, not a single indicator: it combines price action, momentum proxies, and drawdown/volatility checks to decide where to place capital.
CheckmarkValue prop
Outperforms SPY on upside: out-of-sample annualized return 31.66% vs 22.80%, via regime-aware, multi-stream ETF strategy with a Safety Mix. Captures growth in favorable regimes with hedges; expect some drawdowns in downturns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
