This strategy splits money in half. One half asks: “Is the market stressed?” If yes, it tries to buy sharp dips in big U.S. stock indexes using turbocharged funds, but avoids chasing a rebound that already happened. If conditions look too risky, it hides in a defensive mix of the U.S. dollar, gold, consumer-staples stocks, and short-term Treasuries. The other half scans several funds and buys the 1–2 that look the most beaten down recently. If market fear is very high, it may shift toward bond trades or include commodities instead.
