About

A rules-based swing/defense plan that shifts between cash-like T‑bills (SHV), tech (QQQ/ROM), Treasuries (TMF), and hedges (VIXY, BTAL, SQQQ) using oversold/overbought signals and SPY’s 200‑day trend.
NutHow it works
It watches three gauges: 1) TQQQ oversold, 2) SPY vs its 200‑day average (trend), 3) short‑term “heat” (RSI: high=hot, low=cold). If tech is deeply oversold, it splits ROM (2x tech) and SHV (T‑bills). If SPY is weak, it goes defensive—QQQ+cash if bonds look strong; otherwise SQQQ (short Nasdaq)+BTAL (market‑neutral)+cash. If SPY is healthy, it keeps 50% in SHV and pairs it with QQQ, TMF (3x Treasuries), or SPLV. If things look too hot, it briefly uses VIXY (volatility)+TMF as a hedge.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this rules-based mix of cash, tech, Treasuries, and hedges cuts drawdowns while keeping solid risk-adjusted returns. OOS max drawdown 12.6% vs S&P 18.8%; Calmar ~1.22; Sharpe ~0.91; beta ~0.5—providing steadier exposure and downside protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
