About

A quarterly strategy that uses the bond market as a traffic light: green means buy aggressive leveraged funds, red means shift to defensive, hedging, bond, gold, or dollar funds depending on interest-rate trends.
NutHow it works
This strategy checks in only 4 times a year. First, it uses bond ETFs as a market mood gauge: if broad bonds (BND) are doing better than cash-like T-bills (BIL), it goes aggressive. If not, it gets defensive. Then it asks whether interest rates seem to be rising or falling, and picks a small basket of stock, bond, gold, dollar, or hedging funds. Within each basket, it prefers the ones that have recently cooled off the most.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this quarterly, bond-informed strategy offers higher upside (22.0% vs SPY’s 21.1%), with regime-aware risk controls and built-in diversification from rate-cycle signals—designed to complement the S&P 500, not just chase it.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
